On the afternoon of September 5, 2024, the 2024 "China Agricultural Bank · Just in Time Cup" Guangzhou Huangpu International Tennis Open and International Men's Professional Tennis Challenger press conference was held in the press conference hall of the Guangzhou Huangpu Media Center. The conference introduced relevant information, highlights, and preparations for the event to the public and officially released the logo for the Guangzhou Huangpu International Tennis Open. The event will be held at the Guangzhou Development Zone International Tennis School from September 8th to 15th.
Lü Liang, director of the Events Department of the General Administration of Sport of China's Tennis Management Center; Deng Weihan, deputy director of the Guangzhou Municipal Sports Competition Center; Peng Xuan, Party secretary and director of the Huangpu District Sports Bureau of Guangzhou; Chen Bingchi, deputy general manager of the Guangzhou Development Zone branch of the Agricultural Bank of China; Ou Xuy, chairman of Guangdong Sport Systems Co., Ltd.; and Australian tennis player Christopher O'Connell were among the guests who attended the press conference, which was hosted by Yangjin, a host from Guangdong Radio and Television Sports Channel.
This year's event marks the inaugural year of the Guangzhou Huangpu International Tennis Open. A short but grand logo launch ceremony was held at the press conference. The logo incorporates the main elements of the Huangpu District logo and tennis, highlighting Huangpu's characteristics and showcasing the deep integration of tennis into Huangpu. It fully expresses Huangpu's great expectations for the development of technology and tennis. At the meeting, Peng Xuan, Party secretary and director of the Huangpu District Sports Bureau of Guangzhou, introduced relevant information and highlights of the event to the public in response to reporters' questions. A total of nearly 100 athletes from 28 countries and regions worldwide have registered for this event. There are more than 5 players currently ranked in the top 100 in the world men's singles rankings, including Australian star O'Connell, Chinese player Tu Chenli, and Italian youngster Luca Nardi, who shone at the recent Indian Wells Masters.
As the event is close to the Mid-Autumn Festival, the organizing committee will also hold a "Net Yue Mid-Autumn Festival" garden party at the weekend, offering a variety of entertainment activities and food, with interactive game areas such as riddle-guessing, ring-tossing, and archery.
